Ashley is a downstate transplant turned honorary Yooper. She came up to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University and never sees herself leaving. She graduated from NMU in 2014 with a bachelors in Physical Education, minor in music and a passion to help the community.
After working in the fitness world and not finding the fire she was looking for, she found herself being involved with more and more local events. Whether it be working backstage for performances, setting up at different venues, or decorating for gorgeous weddings.
Finding the perfect balance of having a career and fulfilling her passion, she settled down in her full time job as a recruiter at Manpower. She works with employing a plethora of different companies around the UP and spends her free time working with events and volunteering her time contributing to the community. She has spent the last 2 years on the board for the Connect Marquette Professionals Organization, 4 years with the lip sync battle fundraiser for the Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, a year volunteering with the Beacon House, 5 years with The Halloween Spectacle and dabbling in events for Double Trouble Entertainment.
Meeting the CIP team has her thinking about other ways to help this community and how there are some issues that are not being addressed that need attention. Even with being a new mom and navigating this “new normal” world amidst the pandemic she is still very excited for this journey!
