Penny Canada serves on CIP’s Board of Directors. Her work-life story began on an airplane. After becoming a licensed pilot, her interest in aviation, love of math and problem solving landed her in engineering studies at Purdue University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. As a Boeing Flight Test Engineer on the 747-400 aircraft, the completion of the testing program meant searching for a new position. Her search led her back to her native Michigan, close to family, and into a Sales Engineering position in the automotive industry prior to her work layover as a stay-at-home mom with three sons.
Penny rejoined the workforce while completing Oakland University’s Personal Financial Planning program leading to a certification as a Certified Financial Planner, specializing in Special Needs Planning.
Recent experience also includes 7 years of experience finding funding and staff as well as coordinating care and navigating services for her son Drew during his college years.
Penny is delighted to be a part of the Caregiver Incentive Project Team and brings additional experiences with her including Public Speaking, Advocacy, Care Management, Planned Giving and experience serving for 5 years on University of Michigan’s Rehabilitation Engineering Advisory Board.
She is a member of the professional fundraising association & looks forward to helping advance the mission of the Caregiver Incentive Project.
